C-SPAN producer and booker Elise Collingwood has died at age 53, after a brief illness, the cable network says. Collingwood worked on “Washington Journal,” C-SPAN’s morning interview and call-in program.

She joined C-SPAN in 1993, and was there when the network launched “Washington Journal” in 1995.

Collingwood was the niece of famed CBS News correspondent and anchor Charles Collingwood.
