Walters Calls Idea of Paris Interview ‘Tawdry’

Barbara Walters had already written her questions for the first post-lockup Paris Hilton interview. But “when all that pay-for-play stuff happened, I suddenly felt this was not up to my standard.” Barbara tells Cindy Adams “it felt tawdry… the whole thing somehow was beneath me.” As for ABC, Barbara says “for them it was ratings. For me it was respect… they respected my decision and walked away.” Paris will give her first sit-down to Larry King this Wednesday.
