Wallace’s Interview #1 On Air & Online

For six straight days, Mike Wallace‘s interview of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was the #1 topic on CBSNews.com.

“The interview was announced and then previewed for the first time on the website last Wednesday and has received the most ‘hits’ ever since,” CBS News says. On day seven, the story has dropped to third place on the “most popular” list, but the video is still #1.

The interview also made 60 Minutes the highest-rated program in primetime Sunday, the Hollywood Reporter notes. “It averaged 9.2 million viewers and a 1.7/6 to make it the most-watched show, yet about average in the demo.”
