“There’s a certain broadcast/cable hybrid feel to the new World News Tonight,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Jill Vejnoska writes today.
“If it works — and so far it mostly does — it’s because the two anchors appear sensible about divvying up their screen time (Vargas anchored all the Washington/political stories Monday, for instance, then left the rest to Woodruff ) and the format can expand or contract to accommodate stories like Sharon’s stroke or the mine disaster.
Now if they’ll just promise us never to add the blasted crawl…”
