Viewers Flock to CNN, Fox News New Years Eve Specials

We will have the full cable ratings from Friday shortly, but for now, take a look at the strong showings from CNN’s “New Years Live” with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, and Fox News Channel’s “All American New Years” with Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer and the “Red Eye” New Years special.

FNC: 926,000 total viewers, 206,000 demo viewers

CNN: Did not air

11 PM ET

FNC: 1.641 million total viewers, 454,000 demo viewers

CNN: 1.532 total viewers, 715,000 demo viewers

12 AM ET

FNC: 1.428 million total viewers, 479,000 demo viewers (includes “Red Eye” from 12:30-1 AM)

CNN: 1.805 total viewers, 793,000 demo viewers

Both programs were down slightly compared to last year.

How did the broadcast networks fare?

ABC’s “New Year’s Rockin Eve” with Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark won the night with 6.7 million total viewers, with NBC’s “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” far behind with 3.8 million viewers, and the Fox broadcast network’s “Fox New Year’s Eve Live” with 2 million viewers. CBS aired a rerun of its drama series “Blue Bloods.”
