The terror attacks in Paris Friday night, which broke during the late afternoon here in the U.S., became a draw for the cable networks into the evening.
According to early time period data from Nielsen, Fox News was the leading network among total viewers while CNN was most-watched in the A25-54 demo. for MSNBC, it was the fourth-highest night of the year.
For both networks, Friday was their most-watched day of the year (not including primary debate nights). FNC was the most watched channel on cable TV Friday night. FNC coverage was anchored for the most part by Shepard Smith, with Megyn Kelly anchoring from 9-11 p.m. ET. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon were the primary anchors for CNN. Brian Williams anchored most of the coverage for MSNBC.
Final numbers will be out after 4 p.m. ET.
