Van Susteren Uses Facebook Live to Report From Ecuador

By A.J. Katz

Fox News host Greta Van Susteren took her talents to South America late last week, covering the catastrophic earthquake that struck off the coast of Ecuador on Saturday, April 16. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake has killed hundreds and injured thousands of Ecuadorians.

With linear TV news consumed by the passing of Prince and the presidential elections, Van Susteren utilized Facebook Live to report live from the devastation. She traveled to the region without a crew or producers and was able to provide up-to-date info using the new platform. Outside of the debates and a few Q&A’s, Van Susteren’s report from Ecuador was the first Facebook Live broadcast for Fox News.

Footage from her travels will be shown on tonight’s edition of On The Record with Greta Van Susteren at 7 p.m. ET.
