Under Fire, Donald Trump Cancels on FNC’s Sean Hannity

On Monday night, Donald Trump was talking up Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, calling Hannity “a great, great person.” Today, Trump cancelled a scheduled interview with Hannity that was to air tonight.

A Fox News spokesperson confirmed to TVNewser the Trump appearance had been canceled, saying it would be re-scheduled.

Trump, however, is under fire, facing a series of published reports accusing him of sexual misconduct with women over the last three decades.

The relationship between Hannity and Trump has not escaped notice, with Fox News colleague Megyn Kelly describing the show as Trump’s safe space. “Donald Trump, with all due respect to my friend at 10 o’clock, will go on Hannity and pretty much only Hannity and will not venture out to the unsafe spaces these days, which does not exactly expand the tent for either one of them.”

That led to a day of reports that there was a rift inside FNC between Hannity and Kelly, leading to a smiling photo of the two colleagues, who said they were “friends.”
