Remember the Italian journalist who was held hostage in Iraq, then shot by American forces? On Wednesday’s Nightly News, Jim Miklaszewski said “NBC News has learned that a preliminary report from a joint U.S.-Italian investigation has cleared the American soldiers of any wrongdoing and provides new details into the shooting.” (MSNBC.com has more.)

But then a couple hours later on CBS’s 60 Minutes Wednesday, the journalist, Giuliana Sgrena, granted her first American TV interview to Scott Pelley. Sgrena said the U.S. military is lying about the circumstances of the shooting. Here’s the CBSNews.com story. Thanks to the e-mailer who suggested this example of “NBC vs. CBS.”
