Two Million Viewers Watch bin Laden Doc.

Weeks of aggressive promotion and a unique time slot attracted more than two million viewers to the premiere of CNN’s “In The Footsteps of bin Laden” Wednesday night. The CNN Presents documentary averaged 886,000 in the demo and 2,164,000 total viewers between 9 and 11pm.

The two-hour special beat FNC by 42 percent in the demo. CNN came in first place in the primetime demo race, but FNC still had more total viewers in prime. (Check the Scoreboard for details.)

Wednesday’s program was the first time in recent memory that CNN aired a doc from 9 to 11pm, the network’s two highest-rated hours of the day. Viewership was about double the time slot averages. It was the highest-rated CNN Presents of the year…
