More than a dozen cable and broadcast networks have their cameras trained on a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing room where former FBI Director James Comey is about to testify as part of larger investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. election.

“Allegations have been swirling in the press for the last several weeks and today is your opportunity to set the record straight,” said committee chairman Sen. Richard Burr in his opening statement.

“This is not a witch hunt, this is not fake news, this is an effort to protect our country from a threat that, quite honestly, will not go away any time soon,” said vice chairman Sen. Mark Warner.
