TV News Producers, Execs and Personalities Compete in NYC Triathlon

Yesterday was the 2010 Nautica New York City Triathlon, and a flurry of TV news staffers, executives and personalities participated. As we reported over the weekend, Fox Business Network’s Liz Claman was among those biking, swimming and running to the finish line.

Other boldface names included CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta and ABC News’ Chris Cuomo, who is pictured here with the medal given to those that complete the race. Cuomo posted the photo to his Facebook page.

CNN had a number of other staffers participate in the race, according to a blog post recapping the day’s festivities: executive producer Roni Selig joined Gupta and producers Anthony Fox, John Bonifield, Caitlin Hagan, Danielle Dellorto, Charlie Moore and Jeff Kepnes (who just happens to be Liz Claman’s husband) in the race.

In addition to Cuomo, senior producer Sharon Hoffman crossed the finish line for team ABC News.

WNYW, the local Fox affiliate, was a media sponsor of the triathlon, and had a number of staffers and executives participating, including former Fox News exec Jack Abernathy, who currently oversees the Fox Television Stations group.

As for Claman, she sent this tweet out shortly after finishing the race: “Gang,I’m back & I did it-Tough weather conditions HOT but I didn’t try 2 push it. Got kicked a few times in the river but the bike/run good!”

The Hudson river does get pretty crowded this time of year.
