TV News Crews Head to North Carolina for Hurricane Arthur

Tropical Storm Arthur has strengthened into a category one Hurricane churning up the east coast set to hit North Carolina’s Outer Banks hardest. TV news crews have already dispersed crews to cover the extreme weather this 4th of July.

The Weather Channel will have a number of meteorologists and correspondents reporting live from North Carolina. Sam Champion, Stephanie Abrams, and Mike Seidel will report from Kill Devil Hills; Reynolds Wolf and Raegan Medgie will do live shots from Wrightsville Beach; Dave Malkoff and Ron Blome will report from various Outer Banks locations, and Jim Cantore will report from Salvo, NC.

ABC News Correspondent Matt Gutman will report from Wrightsville Beach, NC. Correspondent David Kerley and NewsOne Correspondent Marci Gonzalez will report from Nags Head, a town in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. ABC weather anchor Ginger Zee will cover the storm from New York City. Tonight, “World News” will lead with Arthur coverage; David Muir substitutes for Diane Sawyer.

NBC News has correspondent Kerry Sanders reporting from Kill Devil Hills, NC. CBS Newspath correspondent Craig Boswell is reporting from Nags Head, NC.

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy will report from Virginia Beach; Correspondent Jonathan Serrie will be live from Kill Devil Hills, NC. FNC will provide storm updates during daytime and cut-in live during primetime as needed.

CNN’s Alina Machado, Joe Johns, and Indra Petersons will report from various North Carolina locations. Meteorologist Chad Myers will monitor Hurricane forecasts from Atlanta.

MSNBC will have correspondent Sarah Dallof reporting from the Outer Banks and meteorologist Bill Karins monitoring forecasts from New York City. The network will also go to Weather Channel correspondents for live shots.
