“Kimberly Osias had no way to get to West Virginia. As it turned out, the WVA Governor Joe Manchin (D) was in Atlanta for a bowlgame, and Ms. Osias hitched a ride with the Democratic Governor to WVA in his private plane. She then rode in a car with the Governor to the site of the mining accident.
Do you see the problem with a reporter hopping a flight (and a long car ride) with a government official to get to the location of a breaking news story, all on the government’s dime?”
