An e-mailer reacts to the video, shown on Friday’s World News Tonight, of Bob Woodruff and Doug Vogt before the attack on their convoy last Sunday:
“My God! Is THAT all they were wearing?”
The video was tough to watch. (Here’s a description of it.) Woodruff is wearing a helmet and body armor, but his neck and face are exposed. An e-mailer whose friend has been to Iraq twice says the vest looks like “the least protection you can possibly wear.”
On January 29, amid initial reports of the attack, ABC News reported that the men “were wearing body armor, helmets and ballistic glasses.” But Woodruff was clearly not wearing any glasses in the video on WNT.
