NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw discussed his multiple myeloma bone marrow cancer with David Letterman last night, saying he would like to keep the matter as private as possible.
“I’m very pleased with the progress, and that’s about as far as I want to go,” Brokaw said, adding it’s not just him going through this ordeal.
“A lot of people are going through what I’m going through, and they don’t have the advantages that I do…I am so conscious of that everyday.”

For Brokaw, continuing to work at NBC has been therapy for him.
