Former NBC News anchor and current Military Channel host and NBC News contributor Tom Brokaw speaks to CNN about his career:

“I was the first person to make the decision to step aside, and I wanted to not be tied to 6:30 every night,” Brokaw said “I wanted to be free to do things that I cared about, and not worry whether it was a rating period, or whether I had to rush to the studio and be on the air that night.”
