Today’s Forecast: Sunny, with a Chance of Muzak

By Alex Weprin

An unusual occurrence this morning on NBC’s “Today.” Stephanie Abrams was filling in for Al Roker, or at least she was supposed to.

Abrams ended up getting stuck in an elevator with her hair and makeup team coming down to the “Today” studio, so she delivered the first forecast of the morning via cell phone:

Luckily, she was able to make it to the studio for the second forecast, but that didn’t stop Matt Lauer from cracking a joke at her expense in the elevator:

“Worst case scenario, you are stuck there four or five days, but you have your hair and makeup people so you will look great when they rescue you.”

Abrams, for her part, handled the situation with humor:

“I was hoping for some hunky firemen to rescue me.”
