‘Today’ Two Months Away From Ten Years On Top, But Not If GMA Has Its Way

USAT’s Peter Johnson has an update on the morning show wars:
“GMA’s audience was up 19% last week from a year ago, compared with Today’s 5%. Since May, GMA is up 11% in total viewers, while Today is down 2%. As of last week, Today’s margin of victory stood at about 400,000 viewers — 5.5 million to 5.9 million — a third of the gap a year ago.”

‘Today’ has won 512 consecutive weeks, but Today EP Jim Bell hedges when asked if NBC will reach “a full 10 years at the top.” “I’m a week-to-week kind of guy,” he says…
