‘Today’ Has Best Day Yet from London

Thursday’s “Today” was the most watched of the week from London drawing 5.94 million viewers, according to Nielsen Fast National data. And while “Today” is not sharing in the blockbuster ratings other NBCU dayparts are seeing, the show is performing +38% better than the same four days last week and is performing +9% better than “Good Morning America” which has won the past five weeks.

“Today” has averaged 5.86 million viewers this week, down -10% from the first week of the 2008 Beijing games which averaged 6.52 million viewers. (That week was the show’s best in eight years, since the week of November 6, 2000. It also was the widest margin of victory for any Olympic week since the first week of the 1996 Atlanta games.)

In A25-54 viewers “Today” averaged 2.557 million viewers Thursday, the best day since March 5, and best advantage over “GMA” since September 12, 2011.
