The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 38th Daytime Emmy Awards.

In the “Outstanding Morning Program” category, there are only two nominees, and they happen to be the top two morning news programs: NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America.” In total “Today” received six nominations, while “GMA” received the one.

Last year there was a third nominee in CNN’s “American Morning.” That show, along with all the other cable news programs, was shut out this year.
