‘Today,’ ‘Good Morning America’ Debut New Graphics

By Merrill Knox

It was a big morning for “Today” and “Good Morning America”: both the NBC and ABC morning shows debuted new graphics today, just a week and a day after CBS launched a whole new show.

The updated “Today” logo is slightly more muted than the last version. The major change to the show’s look is the lower thirds, which now extend all the way to the right side of the screen instead of floating in the middle.

The lower thirds for “GMA” get an update while keeping the blue and white colors. The major change in the “GMA” graphics package is the logo and open. The previously-blue background now includes red, yellow and orange ribbons, as Newscast Studio points out, are the colors of “Today.”
