By Brian

“With its motor-mouthed interviews of chief executives and major stars, Topic A with Tina Brown was designed as Charlie Rose for the A.D.D. set. It was supposed to be serious fun, but almost no one joined the party,” the NYT’s David Carr says. Brown told Carr she committed to CNBC in part because she wanted a lower profile while she learned her way around a new medium. “It would have been embarrassing to leap into the limelight without TV experience. I didn’t expect to come out of the box great,” she says.
