Tina Brown: “It’s Been A Ball Fighting Our Little Guerilla War For Smart Conversation”

By Brian

CNBC’s Topic A with Tina Brown signed off the air Sunday night. The roundtable said their “hot pick” was “Tina and Topic A.” After presenting her with flowers, Brown said goodnight and goodbye:

“Well, my hot pick is the viewers of Topic A…because as you know, this is our last show. Thanks for sharing the fun of the last two years. I also want to thank the terrific Topic A staff, the studio crew, my fabulous hair and makeup team, the editors, and all the folks in the control room — you are the best bunch that anyone could work with. And thanks, too, to my kids, George and Izzy, who faithfully gave up watching the WB at 8pm every Sunday night!

It’s been a ball fighting our little guerilla war for smart conversation. We are going to leave you with some of the fun moments from Topic A. Have a great summer, take care…And roundtable, you were an all-star group!”

> Also: Brown writes on the Topic A Web site: “The rest of Topic [A]’s superb team of Rich Flynn, Sara Leeder, Molly Conroy, Sarah Horne, Ron Fried, Miriam Reinharth, Jesse Kornbluth and Alexandra MacCallum will continue to wage the guerrilla war for quality on other shows on other networks. You will see our fearless Executive Producer Kathy O’Hearn’s name surfacing soon as the new Executive Producer on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”
