Time For A “Coherent Plan” At CNBC

By Brian

In naming Mark Hoffman the new president, CNBC has turned to a successful NBC leader to steer the network ship. “It makes perfect sense. It’s a logical choice,” an industry insider remarked. “I think times have changed enough so that what it really needs is a coherent plan, strong leadership and a fresh set of eyes — not necessarily in that order.”

The insider continued: “It’s about time somebody who knew something about television was running the place.” The insider suggested that a “close reading” of all the press releases tells the true story. “There’s open talk of a delicate exit dance…This may prove to move to be the most spectacular [one] in cable history.”
