  • Jay Carney will leave his role as a CNN political analyst as he takes a job in the private sector. Playbook reports the former White House press secretary and TIME journalist will join Amazon as SVP of Worldwide Corporate Affairs. He’ll split his time between Seattle and D.C.
  • “Late Night” host Seth Meyers has not told any jokes about his friend Brian Williams. Meyers tells Howard Stern “it would be a lot harder for me” since he is friendly with the Williams family. He also said NBC has not ordered him to steer clear of the controversy.
  • Former New York Times editor Jill Abramson has landed a $1 million book deal to write about how legacy media companies can flourish among digital-only rivals. This is Abramson’s third book. CBS-owned Simon & Schuster is the publisher
