Ticker: Bloommobile, Vélez, 48

  • The Bloommobile is back. The live mobile news unit made famous by the late NBC News anchor David Bloom during the Iraq war, was back in action this morning on “Today.” Dylan Dreyer reported on the snowstorm from the streets of Boston. The vehicle was badly damaged in tornadoes in 2013, but has been restored with new equipment.
  • Luis Carlos Vélez joins Telemundo as Executive Vice President of Network News. Vélez, a former CNN en Español, anchor joins from Caracol Television in Colombia where he was Anchor and News Director. Vélez will oversee all Telemundo network news operations and programs.
  • CBS’s “48 Hours” was the most-watched show on broadcast TV Saturday night. With 5.19 million viewers, the CBS newsmagazine doubled “20/20” in viewers, while also winning the 10pmET/PT hour in the A18-49 and A25-54 demos.
