Following up on yesterday’s post on the ratings for the GOP debate Sunday morning, moderated by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. ABC News is claiming a ratings victory with “the highest A25-54 numbers of any Republican debate this cycle.”
Notice, too, the highest GOP debate in total viewers was on FNC on May 15.

ABC NEWS REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE POSTS HIGHEST DEMO NUMBER OF ALL REPUBLICAN DEBATES THIS CYCLE
According to Nielsen Media Research Fast Nationals for Sunday, August 5, 2007, ABC News This Week with George Stephanopoulos posted the highest A25-54 numbers of any Republican debate this cycle.
The debate, moderated by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos with additional questioning from David Yepsen of The Des Moines Register, was held at Drake University on August 5, 2007. All Republican presidential candidates were in attendance.
This was the first Presidential debate of the 2008 cycle aired on broadcast television and the first Presidential debate of the 2008 cycle held in Iowa. The democratic debate will be held August 19, 2007.
