
There’s a new twitter account, launched Sunday, that takes tweets from @realDonaldTrump and turns them into White House statements–on letterhead from the Office of the Press Secretary–within seconds of President Trump sending the tweet. In a little more than 40 hours, @RealPressSecBot has nearly 82,000 followers.
The first bot “statement” came out Sunday evening, following Saturday’s attacks in London. The most recent, from this morning, are “statements” about–what else?–Fake News:

The question of whether the president’s tweets should be considered official statements was a hot topic on cable news Monday. “Yes. Of course. They are going to be archived,” said CNN’s Gloria Borger. “These are words that are typed and written by the President of the United States. Period. And they’re going to be archived as such.”
