‘There’s No Need to Mend Fences’ Says Kellyanne Conway about Trump’s Meeting with TV Newsers

Following a 75-minute meeting with more than a dozen members of the TV media in the upper floors of Trump Tower, Kellyanne Conway went to the lobby to talk about that meeting. “Thanks for sharing your bosses with us,” Conway said to the assembled press who are staking out the lobby for transition news.

When asked if the meeting was about mending fences, Conway said, “There’s no need to mend fences. It was an off-the-record meeting. It was very cordial. Very productive. Congenial. But it was also very candid and honest.”

Trump made the media part of the storyline of his campaign, whether it was going after FNC’s Megyn Kelly following her question at the first debate or NBC’s Katy Tur, often referred to as “Little Katy,” by the candidate.

“From my own perspective, it’s great to hit the reset button,” Conway added. “It was a long, hard-fought campaign. Donald Trump proved that he understood America and now he will be president to all Americans.”

Trump will meet tomorrow with the New York Times, Conway said.
