The Top Cable News Shows in July Were…

Fox News had the top 14 programs in total viewers and the top nine programs in the key A25-54 demographic in July 2014. As usual, “The O’Reilly Factor” was the number one program in cable news in both total and demo viewers, averaging 2,832,000 total viewers and 446,000 demo viewers. “The Kelly File” was second with 2,386,000 total viewers and 386,000 demo viewers. “The Five,” “Special Report with Bret Baier” and “Hannity” rounded out the top five.

CNN was the only network other than Fox News to have a show in the top ten among the A25-54 demo: “Anderson Cooper 360,” which averaged 189,000 demo viewers, placed tenth overall. CNN’s highest-rated show in total viewers was “The Sixties,” which averaged 613,000 viewers and placed 19th overall.

“Shark Tank” led the way for CNBC, placing 32nd overall in total viewers and 12th overall in the demo. The program averaged 406,000 and 182,000 viewers, respectively.

MSNBC’s highest-rated show was “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which placed 15th overall in total viewers and 16th overall in the demo. Maddow’s program averaged 795,000 total viewers and 175,000 demo viewers.

“Nancy Grace” led HLN in both ratings measurements, placing 34th in total viewers and 27th in the demo with 371,000 and 129,000 viewers, respectively.

The top-rated show in total viewers on Fox Business was “Imus in the Morning,” which ranked 75th overall. “Stossel” led the way in the demo, ranking 76th.
