> The Hollywood Reporter says Retirement Living TV is expanding its deal with NBC News. NBC will provide special coverage of the effects the 2008 presidential elections have on seniors. Also, specially produced NBC News inserts with a boomer and senior focus will air during RLTV’s Daily Cafe.

> TVWeek’s Michele Greppi reports NATAS is adding a category for promotional spots. “The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will begin honoring promotional announcements for news and documentary shows, sports and daytime entertainment programming.” The promo Emmys will be presented at the News & Doc ceremony in September.

> iVillage’s second attempt at a syndicated show is coming to an end. Insiders tell Jossip “In the Loop” will cease production late next month. The show, which ran on NBC’s owned stations, picked up where iVillage Live left off. While iVillage Live was taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, In the Loop was taped at the NBC Tower in Chicago.
