The Ticker: Couric Speaks, Scarborough Writes, Bell Voices…

> Katie Couric is scheduled to give the Class Day address at Princeton University on June 1. She’ll be the first woman — and the first journalist — to give the address since off-campus speakers were first invited to speak in 2001. Past Class Day speakers include President Bill Clinton and Stephen Colbert .

> Joe Scarborough has a new book coming out in May, Random House subsidiary Crown Forum has announced. “The book will offer a searing indictment of the Republican leaders who destroyed their party and crippled our country,” according to a statement from the publisher, “while offering a clear path of recovery to conservatives who are ready to take their country back.”

> Today Executive Producer Jim Bell doubled as announcer on this morning’s show. He did a voice over for an advertisement leading into Al Roker’s weather segment: “‘Today‘s Weather’ is brought to you by Kay Jewelers, the number one jewelry store in America.” Roker then gave his EP a shout-out, crediting Bell’s “dulcet tones.”
