  • Deadline reports the New York City Landmarks and Preservation committee will take up a proposal to replace the neon GE sign atop 30 Rockefeller Plaza and replace it with the Comcast logo, which includes the NBC peacock. Comcast also wants to replace the street-side marquees on the building adding one for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

  • This Sunday, Father’s Day, NBC’s Luke Russert will be at Washington, DC bookstore Politics and Prose talking about his father’s memoir, Big Russ and Me. Luke’s father Tim Russert, who NBC’s Washington bureau chief and “Meet the Press” moderator, died 6 years ago today. FishbowlDC will be at the event. Look for coverage on Monday.

  • Capital reports Al Jazeera launched a digital video channel today called Al Jazeera +. The site, which is separate from Al Jazeera America, intends to “give you a fresh take on news, culture and current events from around the world.”
