The O’Reilly Factor: Bigger Than Elvis!

By SteveK

Following in the footsteps of FNC’s print ad for The O’Reilly Factor touting 90-months at #1, a new television spot is airing on the network.

After comparing some other champs in respective fields (“Hound Dog” on the charts, E.T. in theaters, The Cosby Show on TV), cue dramatic music: “None…topped…The Factor.”

The end of the promo reminds viewers who may miss the show that they have another option: “If you can’t watch it tonight, DVR it.”

DVR/TiVo viewing has long benefited O’Reilly’s challenger at 8pmET, MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. And since O’Reilly took to mentioning the option on the air, the program has been performing very well in the time-shifted cable news category.

> Update: An emailer notes NBC’s Today show is the longest running program at #1 — 655 weeks.

Click continued to see the promo (and, just for fun, see if you can name the six members of the competition pictured, who have “never [had] a number one show” between them)…
