Last week, the organization Citizens United was infuriated by their characterization in Campbell Brown‘s CNN documentary “Campaign Killers.” As reported by FishbowlDC, the group threatened legal action against CNN Senior Producer Melissa Dunst Lipman for calling the group a “fringe militia,” and labeling its President David Bossie a “dirty trickster.”
Now Drudge is reporting that a lawsuit is being pursued. The statement Drudge Report obtained says the group has retained counsel, and seeks a “formal apology and public retraction” by CNN.
The documentary, Brown’s first since joining CNN, is drawing criticism from the other side of the political spectrum as well.
