The Television Critics Association has announced its nominees for the annual TCA awards which will be presented during the summer press tour in August.
Adweek’s Jason Lynch, a TCA member, has a list of all the nominees, but there are two categories of interest to the TVNewser audience. One traditional cable news program, The Lead with Jake tapper, is among the nominees for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information. Here are the nominees:

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver – HBO
The Lead With Jake Tapper – CNN
O.J.: Made in America – ESPN
Planet Earth II – BBC America
Weiner – Showtime
In Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming Showtime’s The Circus, hosted by MSNBC analysts John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, is nominated along with ABC’s Shark Tank, CBS’s Survivor, PBS’s The Great British Baking Show, The Keepers on Netflix and the A&E program Leah Rimini: Scientology and the Aftermath.
