New hires and interns at CBS News yesterday got to hear insight and advice from senior staff, right off the bat, in a wide-ranging seminar titled “Television Production 101.” Public Eye says the speakers included Bob Schieffer and Joie Chen, with Schieffer starting off his talk by sharing “that he’s nearing his 50-year anniversary in the news business.”
Also, Evening News producer Andy Triay talked about the difference between network and cable: “A cable reporters’ job is to say here is what I can see from this vantage point, but network reporters have to say here is what happened today.”
