The Chargers Attempt To Address The Blackout Issue

By Marcus Vanderberg

In what could be a sign of things to come, the San Diego Chargers will drop ticket prices on 6,500 seats in 2011.

The Chargers had three blackouts during the 2010 season including their home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Dropping in price are the View Level endzone tickets, which cost $63 last season. Starting in 2011, they will be $54 and make up nearly 10 percent of Qualcomm Stadium’s seating.

The other ticket prices will remain the same for a fourth consecutive year.

“We think lowering the price of these 6,500 season seats gives us the best chance to fill Qualcomm Stadium next year,” Chargers executive vice president A.G. Spanos said. “A full, loud stadium gives us the strongest home-field advantage and allows the fans at home to enjoy the game as well.”

Take note, Tampa Bay.
