The NYTimes‘ Richard Perez-Pena writes about a new PEJ study which looks into how much time media outlets devoted to certain stories in the second quarter of this year. Their findings:
• CNN and MSNBC each devoted about twice as much time to the Iraq war as Fox News Channel.
• The cable news channels “gave less time than most media to events in Iraq, but far more to the Washington debate.”
• The 2008 presidential campaign was the most-covered story (9% from all media)
• MSNBC gave twice as much time (21%) to the campaign as CNN and FNC.
