Terror Plot: A.M. Ratings For FNC & CNN

Cable news network ratings surged as news of the trans-Atlantic terror plot broke Thursday morning. FNC climbed to 1.3 million viewers by 8am and didn’t drop below a million until 1am. CNN peaked at 10am with 1.2 million viewers. MSNBC had between 100k and 200k in the demo and 250k to 450k in total viewers.     3 to 4am: 138,000 demo / 511,000 viewers


    4 to 5am: 177,000 demo / 497,000 viewers


    5 to 5:15am: 243,000 demo / 505,000 viewers


    5:15 to 6am: 244,000 demo / 522,000 viewers


    6 to 7am: 399,000 demo / 896,000 viewers


    7 to 8am: 561,000 demo / 1,298,000 viewers


    8 to 9am: 541,000 demo / 1,843,000 viewers


    9 to 10am: 499,000 demo / 1,827,000 viewers


    10 to 11am: 527,000 demo / 1,923,000 viewers


    11am to 12pm: 463,000 demo / 1,761,000 viewers

FNC didn’t dip below a million viewers the rest of the day…


CNN:


    3 to 4am: 209,000 demo / 415,000 viewers


    4 to 5am: 185,000 demo / 341,000 viewers


    5 to 5:30am: 155,000 demo / 365,000 viewers


    5:30 to 6am: 188,000 demo / 434,000 viewers


    6 to 10am: 335,000 demo / 833,000 viewers


    10 to 11am: 411,000 demo / 1,198,000 viewers


    11am to 12pm: 347,000 demo / 999,000 viewers

CNN was in the demo 200’s and the total viewer 900’s for most of the afternoon.
