Telemundo and MSNBC anchor José Díaz-Balart will lead a town hall discussion with President Barack Obama next week on immigration. On his MSNBC show this morning, Díaz-Balart said the president will “discuss his executive actions on immigration and provide critical information about their impact on families and communities throughout the country.”

The televised event will take place at Florida International University, Wednesday at 8pmET/7pmCT in both English and Spanish, airing on both MSNBC and Telemundo.

BO3“The White House asked us to host this because of our unique cross-platform reach,” Díaz-Balart said before plugging the fact that he hosts shows in both languages.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest joined Díaz-Balart this morning, shortly after the town hall was announced. “This is a tremendous opportunity for the president to continue to make the case to the American public and, in particular the Hispanic community all across the country, that this continues to be a priority for him,” Earnest said.
