‘Tantaros Is Not a Victim; She Is an Opportunist’

By Mark Joyella

In a court filing Monday afternoon, Fox News says of former host Andrea Tantaros “(she) is not a victim; she is an opportunist.”

The network, and executives named in a suit filed by Tantaros ask the court to move the case to arbitration.

Today’s filing describes Tantaros’ lawsuit as having “all the hallmarks of the wannabe: she claims that she too was victimized by Roger Ailes when, in fact, contrary to her pleading, she never complained of any such conduct in the course of an investigation months ago.”

In Tantaros’ lawsuit, filed against Fox News and several top executives last week, the network is described as “a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny.”

Fox News describes Tantaros’ suit as “filled with falsehoods,” and in an addendum to the network’s filing, says “Tantaros’ entirely gratuitous attacks on her former colleagues reveals more about her than about them.”

Not mentioned in the Fox News filing is a claim made in Tantaros’ suit about TVNewser: “The suggestion that Tantaros leaked a story to TVNewser was laughable, because it is common knowledge within the industry that TVNewser was created and controlled by Ailes.” TVNewser, of course, is quite commonly known not to have been created or controlled by Ailes, as we detailed here.
