SVP Parisa Khosravi Leaving CNN Worldwide

By Brian Flood

Parisa KhosraviSenior Vice President for CNN Worldwide Parisa Khosravi has informed the network that she is retiring. TVNewser has obtained the following memo that CNN International executive vice president and managing director Tony Maddox sent to CNN staffers.

In an outstanding career that reaches across nearly three decades, Parisa has been a true eye witness to history. She has been at the heart of our coverage of all key world events since CNN recruited Parisa straight out of school, and she joined the company as a VJ. Her talent was quickly recognized and Parisa has played a key leadership role in CNN’s reporting of the stories that have shaped our world.

CNN does not have a more committed champion. Parisa has been devoted to the brand she has played a pivotal role in helping to build. From the day she started, Parisa has dealt with the folks who put everything on the line to get great stories. Those field teams are always in her thoughts, and no effort has ever been spared by her to keep them safe and well.

No one has played a greater role in the emergence and then dominance of CNN International Newsgathering than Parisa. She has so many friends and fans throughout the company.

We are deeply grateful to Parisa for her remarkable service and wish her the very best for the future.

TVNewser has also obtained the farewell e-mail that Khosravi sent to all CNN employees this morning.

To my dear CNN family in every corner of the world, we have covered and made history together.  I will cherish it all.

I joined CNN because of Ted’s commitment to international news and have had the honor of being part of helping build CNN to a global news power house.

The front row seat to every major news event for nearly three decades has been awesome and humbling.

I now want to change gears and go after some new opportunities and will be retiring from CNN in the weeks ahead.

My deepest appreciation to Ted Turner for creating our amazing CNN and allowing us, present and past CNNers to have such an incredible journey covering our world.

Wherever you are and whatever story you are covering, be safe!
