Sunday Show Ratings: September 3

ABC, NBC and CBS’s Sunday political shows all posted year-over-year audience growth on Labor Day weekend 2017.

CBS Face the Nation with John Dickerson was No. 1 in total viewers on September 3, while ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos took top honors among adults 25-54.

In addition to being the most-watched, Face the Nation posted +9 percent total viewers growth versus last year, as well as +6 percent growth in the news demo.

In addition to finishing No. 1 in the ad-friendly demographic on Sept. 3, This Week delivered its largest audience since March 26, 2017.

This Week also grew +20 percent from the same Sunday last year, both in total viewers and in the key A25-54 demo. That’s more growth than its competition.

NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd finished third in total viewers, and second in the news demo this past week. The program posted +6 percent total viewer growth and +11 percent growth in the demo versus Sept. 4, 2016.

Fox News Sunday held even in total viewers, but was -6 percent in the news demo from last year. In addition to the 1.32 million total viewer count on FOX, the trio of cable replays on FNC delivered a combined 2.996 million total viewers, 674,000 from the demo. Altogether, that’s 4.32 million total viewers, 1.04 million A25-54.

Al Punto hosted by Jorge Ramos continues to resonate with millennial viewers. The program has posted +10 percent ratings growth in the age range compared to last season. Additionally, Al Punto drew more 18-34 year olds than Fox News Sunday on Sept. 3, and is out-performing both FOX and CBS in the current 2016/2017 season.
