ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos was the top Sunday show on Sept. 10, though its competition wasn’t quite as fierce as usual.
NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was pre-empted for Hurricane Irma coverage, and CBS decided to re-title Face the Nation with John Dickerson to “Face-Nation” and not count the telecast in its season averages.
This Week was +31 percent in total viewers and +59 percent among adults 25-54 from the comparable Sunday last year. Its 3.57 million total viewer count represents the show’s largest overall audience in more than six months, and its best demo delivery in 2 1/2 years (Feb. 1, 2015).
FTN posted +2 percent year-over-year improvement this past week, both in total viewers and among adults 25-54.
Fox News Sunday also posted solid year-over-year growth, with the original FOX broadcast +2 percent in total viewers and +18 percent in the demo versus last year.
There were no cable repeats of Fox News Sunday due to the FNC’s coverage of Irma.
As NBC did with Meet the Press, Univision decided to pre-empt Al Punto due to coverage of Irma. The program has posted year-over-year improvement in total viewers (+7 percent) and among adults 25-54 (+5 percent) this season to-date.
