Due to the Memorial Day holiday, ABC and NBC decided not to rate the May 28th episodes of their Sunday public affairs shows. The numbers shown below won’t count towards their respective season averages.
CBS’s Face the Nation with John Dickerson finished No. 1 in total viewers. That said, the program was -9 percent versus its Memorial Day weekend 2016 episode. FTN’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 80.6 percent of CBS affiliates.
Despite not counting their ratings towards the season average, This Week with George Stephanopoulos was the No. 1 Sunday show of the week among viewers from the key A25-54 demo. The program also posted +3 percent demo growth as well as +4 percent total viewer growth from its Memorial Day weekend episode last year.
Meet the Press with Chuck Todd posted double digit year-over-year audience growth in key categories this past Sunday. That said, the Memorial Day 2016 episode had only 84% coverage due to NBC Sports live coverage of Formula 1 and the French Open. MTP was pre-empted on May 21, and as previously mentioned, it was not rated this past Sunday.
Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace held steady in total viewers versus last year’s Memorial Day weekend episode, but was -5 percent in the news demo. The program’s trio of cable replays delivered 2.68 million total viewers and 638,000 A25-54. The 4 broadcasts delivered a combined 4.12 million total viewers and 1.06 million A25-54.
Al Punto hosted by Jorge Ramos posted +6 percent growth in total viewers and +4 percent growth in the key A25-54 demo versus the comparable Sunday in 2016. Al Punto is beating Fox News Sunday and Face the Nation when it comes to delivered the A18-34 demo.
