ABC’s “This Week” took the top spot on March 9, besting the competition in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic for the third week straight. NBC’s “Meet the Press” came in second in total viewers, besting CBS’ “Face the Nation” by just +2,000, but “Face” came in second by +4,000 in the demo.
Compared to the same week last year, ABC and NBC were both up: “This Week” grew +38% in total viewers and +72% in the demo, and “Meet the Press” grew +9% and +10%, respectively. CBS (-9% / -2%), Fox (-13% / -25%) and Univison (-9% / -5%) were all down across the board.
Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 2,381,000 total viewers and 556,000 A25-54 viewers. Rebroadcasts of “Meet the Press” averaged 1,105,000 total viewers and 381,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 50% of the country.
