Each of the Sunday public affairs shows posted year-over-year total audience declines this past Sunday.

CBS’s Face the Nation moderated by John Dickerson was the most-watched Sunday show on July 9, 2017, while NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd remained the go-to Sunday show among viewers from the key A25-54 demo for the 4th consecutive week.

FTN posted a -4 percent decline in total viewers and a significant -22 percent decline in the key news demo from the same Sunday in 2016. The program finished third in the key A25-54 demo behind NBC and ABC.

MTP was -4 percent in total viewers and -8 percent in the news demo versus last year (July 10, 2016). The top-rated show in the demo finished No. 2 in total viewers this past week behind CBS.

The show posted a -6 percent decline and a significant -20 percent decline from last year. Nevertheless, This Week is drawing its largest overall audience in 18 years– since the 1998-99 season.

Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace posted a -10 percent decline in total viewers, but unlike its competition it posted year-over-year growth in the key news demo (+1 percent). FNS’ trio of cable replays delivered a combined 2.74 million total viewers and 649,000 from the A25-54 demo. All in all, the July 9 edition of the program delivered 3.96 million total viewers and 1.03 million from the key demo.

Al Punto hosted by Jorge Ramos posted a rare double digit year-over-year decline in viewership this past Sunday. Univision’s Spanish language public affairs show was -13 percent in total viewers and -14 percent in the A25-54 news demo. That said, the show continues to draw more millennials than Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday this season to-date.
