Sunday Show Ratings: Jan. 13

NBC’s Meet the Press was the No. 1 Sunday show in all relevant measurements for the 8th consecutive week, AND posted year-over-year audience growth.

Now, that’s a pretty good week.

Moderated by Chuck Todd, the January 13 edition of MTP delivered 4.2 million total viewers and more than 1.1 million A25-54 viewers, which is the program’s largest audience since Jan. 7, 2018. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was +5 percent in total viewers and +8 percent in A25-54 viewers.

The telecast featured interviews with Sens. Ted Cruz and Tim Kaine. New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt and Lawfare editor in chief of Lawfare Benjamin Wittes also joined the program to discuss the New York Times report on the FBI and Pres. Trump.

CBS’ Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, on the other hand, slipped from the comparable Sunday in 2018. The broadcast was -6 percent in total viewers and -22 percent in the key A25-54 demo.

ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos drew its largest total audience since its season premiere, while delivering its best A25-54 demo performance in nearly 8 months – since Sept. 30, 2018 and April 15, 2018, respectively. On the downside, the broadcast lost viewers from the comparable Sunday in 2018. It was -5 percent in total viewers, and -11 percent in A25-54 viewers.

Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace posted +10 percent growth in total viewers, and +2 percent growth in A25-54 viewers compared to the same Sunday one year ago. The trio of cable replays delivered 2 million total viewers and 304,000 A25-54 viewers. Combined with the original telecast on Fox Broadcast, the Jan. 13 edition of FNS delivered a total of 3.78 million total viewers and 842,000 A25-54 viewers. Fox News Sunday was preempted in the major West Coast markets, including Las Vegas, LA, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle due to college b’ball on Fox.
